Welcome to the supernatural creature's haven, Kinau. Kinau is a fictitious town on the O'ahu island of Hawaii. Why supernaturals have congregated in the island city is still unknown, but the inhabitants, human and supernatural alike, are learning to adjust to their new reality.
This site aims for a supernatural spin on a slice-of-life city, complete with an academy and college to ensure everyone has a place here.
Events
the valentines dance is open to all. staff will post a starting thread and you can post an entry or make a thread of your own. the dance will take place near the beach. its all outdoors with the dance floor being in large pavilion.
for those that show up without a date. fret not. we have a little sign up sheet for blind dates.
if you don't want your character to participate in the blind date, don't worry they can still be part of the dance.
apart from the dance there will be food/drinks and of course access to the beach.

It was his day off today. Well truly, everyday was his day off because he owned his rec center. He had someone to manage it and enough staff. He only dropped in really if he was called, or wanting to use his own establishment. He wanted to be near the water today. The faerie had thought about the beach but then soon thought about it. Knowing it would probably be very crowded he decided against it. He truly hated to be around a million people. So he thought of the next best thing. First best thing in his book really. Bijou thought a day at the waterfall was much better then the crowded, old beach! Yes the beach was nice and it was normally lovely to look at. Especially at sunrise and sunset. But something about just being by the waterfall sounded more peaceful to him. Having his parents beginning to bug him he wanted to just get away from everything today. So much so he had left his cell phone at home. Not wanting to be disturbed at all. By work, family, whatever the hell decided it wanted to come up.
Leaving his little villa he had which was actually beach front property Bijou looked around quick after he locked his house. Switching to his faerie form he didn't want to be seen changing. Just because he was sure it would look awfully weird to see a grown man suddenly shrink like he was about it. Once he knew no one was around to see the blonde soon shifted. Shrinking down to about the size of a hummingbird. Grinning to himself the water faerie soon took off. Not heading over the beach, fearing he could get caught. He never did trust kids. Sighing happily to himself he always felt so free when flying. Having that flower child mentality he had as a child come back to him for a moment. Once away from the danger zone Bijou picked up his speed a little bit. Once he caught a burst of wind. Laughing happily to himself he did a couple of spins in the air as he flew. It just felt amazing to be able to fly free like this. Once he got on the outskirts of the town he felt the elevation change a bit since he was going up higher. But it didn't bother him really since he wasn't human.
Getting up into the wilderness his grin only got bigger. Seeing the crashing water coming up in his sights he picked up a little bit more speed. To reach where he wanted to be quicker. Reaching the top Bijou beamed with excitement. This was going to be a great spot to just relax. Flying down to the pool that the water from the falls fell into he sat himself down on the ground. Only to slip into the rather chilly water. The temperature didn't bother him for too long as he shifted back and grew back to his normal size. Swimming over to the falls and diving right underneath it. Feeling the water push him down the faerie thought it felt great. Popping back up behind the waterfall Bijou looked around noticing the reflections off the edges. Making it look beautiful. He almost just wanted to live behind the falls. At least he knew he'd be happy and alone so no one could bother him. But he loved his life, having his own business and everything. Diving back under Bijou came out and then laid on the water on his back. Floating perfectly as he sighed with content. Folding his arms around his head just being peaceful. Hoping he'd be alone and no one would come up this way to find him.
The day had gone well so far as he had just finished a very successful raid. To reward himself, Colin decided to relax somewhere quiet for a few days. He quickly ran out of his huge beachfront mansion that his family owned with the bag on his back. He turn into his dragon form when he knew that no one saw him. He went invisible as he took flight just to be safe.
He flew for a bit then land a small clearing near his favorite place of relaxation the waterfall. As he arrived, he thought "I hope no one else is here."
As he enjoyed the water Bijou wished he could own this property. Or something like it. If he could have his own waterfall he would absolutely love it. Just thinking about it he loved it so much. Causing him to smile brightly and chuckle with a grin. Someone was beautiful as him should have something just as beautiful. "One day..." he said to himself. Only to think he suddenly heard someone approaching. Getting a little defensive and thinking it was someone who wanted to capture him he shifted back to his faerie form. Being smaller he'd be able to actually to hide somewhere. Looking around the faerie decided to dip back behind the waterfall. Watching close he decided to wait for a minute or so. Making sure no one was actually there. Bijou really didn't trust anyone so he was really hoping that no one was going to be there. He was on high alert now because he always liked to be alone unless he had to go into work for something.
Deciding to let himself come out again he thought maybe he actually was alone. Thinking he was just being too paranoid. That was until he suddenly got a glimpse of a rather large shadow. Noticing the outline Bijou could tell it was the shadow of a dragon. His eyes growing large he gasped. Biting his lip he quickly flew off and tried to find a place to hide once again. Heading up to the top of the falls. Wondering where the beast was going to land. Hoping it wasn't going to be anywhere around here. But by the looks the creature was going to land near the area. The faerie growled under his breath and sat there in the grass. Being so small the blades of grass were rather big. But he didn't mind he had always loved that part. What he didn't love right now was the fact he was having his space had now been invaded. He wanted to say something but he knew he would never win against a dragon.
Seeing how the dragon got comfortable Bijou huffed softly. Getting himself up quick he decided to press his luck. He flew over towards the dragon. Making sure to keep himself down low so he wasn't spotted. He knew he could easily be eaten. Or swatted like a fly and easily killed if hit. Flying behind him so behind he wouldn't be spotted so easily the blonde tilted his head. He had never seen a dragon up close before. Tilting his head a bit more Bijou got even closer, his scales were pretty and looked rather shiny. He almost wanted to touch him. But he was pretty sure it was a bad idea. He was pretty close as it was. But the faerie was a little too curious for his own good. Just thinking he would keep himself here as close as he could. Until he got scared or until he was spotted.
